After struggling to a 4-12 start, Illinois has come to life recently with four straight victories, including wins over Big Ten rivals Michigan State and Ohio State. In the NHL, the Tampa Bay Lightning (44-11-4) have won five straight and seven of their last nine to remain the front-runner for this year’s President’s Trophy. The begin a mini two-game road trip tonight in Columbus against a Blue Jackets (33-21-3)  team that dropped the first two games of this series by a combined 12-2 score.
