Relegated to the role of spoiler, the Rockies (52-65) will try to execute that game plan tonight as they open up a series at Coors Field against the Arizona Diamondback (59-59), who are still alive for a wild card berth despite unloading ace Zack Greinke at the trade deadline. Colorado will go with rookie right-hander Peter Lambert (2-3, 6.87) on the mound against the D-backs Merrill Kelly (7-12, 4.52).
