When last we left Dabo Swinney and his Clemson Tigers, they were putting the finishing touches on a 44-16 romp over Alabama to claim their second national championship in three seasons. If the lopsided win didn’t declare a new sheriff in town, it definitely created co-deputies heading into the 2019 college football season. The Tigers return a wealth of talent, including QB Trevor Lawrence, RB Travis Etienne, and WRs Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins. What Swinney and this core can do for an encore will begin to take shape tonight as the Tigers open the season in Death Valley against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
