With the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament, the Gonzaga Bulldogs finished the college basketball season with the top rating in the final Dunkel Index rankings. The Bulldogs finished with a rating of 84.375 following their 84-66 win over St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference Tournament final. The Kansas Jayhawks, who did not get to compete in the Big 12 Tournament, finished second with a rating of 82.151. Baylor (80.117), Duke (78.725) and Dayton (77.433) rounded out the Top 5. The biggest year-to-year improvement was made by the New Hampshire Wildcats, who finished with a 15-15 record and 46.542 rating following last year’s 5-24 record and 32.550 rating. The biggest drop came from the Holy Cross Crusaders, who finished 3-29 and 30.977 following last year’s 16-17, 48.886 campaign. The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Bruins also lead the Dunkel NBA and NHL rankings with the seasons suspended following games played on March 11. The Bucks’ rating of 143.974 puts them over six rating points ahead of the LA Lakers at 137.589, while the Bruins’ rating of 14.843 has them ahead of Tampa Bay (14.338), St. Louis (14.143) and Colorado (14.113).
