Final 2008-09: 15 Is Lakers' Magic Number
While the Magic were able to upset LeBron and the Cavaliers in the Eastern
Conference championship, they proved no match for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
Los Angeles put the finishing touches in a five-game series with a 99-86 win in
the final to capture its 15th title and Phil Jackson's 10th as a coach.
Bryant was the series MVP after averaging 32.4 points in his fourth
championship, but first without Shaquille O'Neal. Here are the final
Dunkel NBA ratings* for the 2008-09

Week 18: Sunrise In Phoenix?
A disappointing season for perennial contender Phoenix got worse with the firing
of coach Terry Porter and a season-ending injury to Amare Stoudemire. But
sparked by interim coach Alvin Gentry, the Suns have gone 6-2, including a
118-111 win over the Lakers on Sunday without star guard Steve Nash. The
stretch has kept Phoenix in the playoff chase and No. 12 in this week's Index. Here are the
complete Dunkel NBA ratings* for the week.

Week 2: San Antonio Not Earning Its Spurs
It hasn't been a good start for the perennial contenders in San Antonio. A
1-4 record -- their worst start in the Tim Duncan era -- was compounded by an
ankle injury to guard Tony Parker that will keep him out at least two weeks. The
Spurs have dropped all the way to No. 11 in this week's Index. Here are the
complete Dunkel NBA ratings* for the week.

Week 1: Lakers Off To Fast Start
Looking to rebound after coming up just short in last year's NBA finals, the
Lakers are off to a 3-0 start thanks to the leadership of Kobe Bryant and the
return of Andrew Bynum from injury. LA had little resistance in beating
Portland and the Clippers, and finished the week with a come-from-behind win at
Denver. The start has the Lakers ranked No. 1 in this week's Index. Here are the
complete Dunkel NBA ratings* for the week.
