Super Start Batteries 400 Preview
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Kansas on Thursday night for the Super Start Batteries 400. With no NASCAR race on Sunday, this will be the last time the drivers are on the track until August 2. Kevin Harvick comes in as the top-rated driver according to Dunkel after finishing 4th, 3rd and 5th in his last three races. A solid stretch by other standards, but disappointing for him after winning two of the previous three races. Martin Truex Jr ran only 29th at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday and Dunkel will be looking for a bounce back performance in Kansas, where he took both races back in 2017. Truex Jr finished second at Kentucky three races ago and that’s where Dunkel has him pegged in this one. Rounding out the Top 3 is Chase Elliott. Elliott slipped a little from his All-Star Race win in Bristol with a 12th place finish at Texas. But he’s had three straight Top-4 finishes at Kansas so this track looks to be suited for a strong run on Thursday. The race starts at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Here is Dunkel’s projected finish for the entire Kansas lineup. Driver ratings are based on past performance.
|2||M. Truex Jr||55.535|
|30||R. Stenhouse Jr||72.686|
